Best Time
- Winter–Spring: clear water, redfish schools, snook sunning mid-day.
- Late Spring–Summer: tarpon season, early starts, bait & fly options.
- Fall: great mixed bag; light crowds; breezy afternoons are normal.

- Captiva & Pine Island Sound edges
- Boca Grande & nearby passes (select tides)
Tackle & Techniques
- Fly: 8–10wt, leaders 9–12’, shock 20–60#; EP baitfish, clousers, gurglers.
- Spin: 10–20lb braid, 25–40# mono/fluoro; paddletails, jerk shads, topwater.
- Quiet approaches on push-pole or trolling motor; target **edges, points, and potholes**.
